The Great Tumblr Exodus List

I was going to make a tumblr post that could become a list of people’s tumblr urls vs their preferred platform that they’re evacuating to, so that their friends could find them. But then I realised tumblr format would be crap for that, and it would be a nightmare for people to refer back to and actually see everybody on it. So guess what - I’m making that post on here instead!

If you’re considering leaving tumblr or reducing your hours on it in favour of another platform - or if you’re already active on another platform anyway - or if you've already left! then this post is for you.

Please leave a comment with a) your tumblr url and b) your other name and platform(s); and anything else you want to add, eg, ‘I’ll still crosspost my art/fic on tumblr, but I’ll be mostly on [whatever] for social purposes’.

Anon comments are fine if you don’t have/want a dreamwidth account.

This goes for everybody, not just people who follow me or whom I follow! Use this post however you like - bookmark it, check for any of your friends if they seem to have gone missing, encourage them to add their name here if they're about to - and, if you feel like it, reblog the tumblr post to let your followers know!

I am whitmerule on tumblr, and whit merule on AO3 - and, obviously, whit_merule on here. I'm moving away from tumblr because I've felt for a while that it encourages me to think more negatively about myself and the world; and people's increasing dissatisfaction with staff's changes is very heartening! Back to dreamwidth I go, then; since I only left LJ in the first place because everybody seemed to be heading to tumblr.
I will maintain my tumblr account, but gradually decrease my posting on there, using it mostly to link to my fic (or to post short fics). AO3, obviously, is where I post all my fics anyway, whether they appear on tumblr or not; and I'll link from here too. You should be able to contact me via any platform.

It just makes so much more sense. One can find posts and comments so easily. Sure, it lacks the pretty pictures, but one can look at them at tumblr and squee about them here instead (or at LJ, anywhere that works for people who can read and write).

I really should just stay away from tumblr - it's making me very uncomfortable with it's discourse and ideology. But it's siren call keeps calling me.

Twitter: KD_Heart (the account is locked, because I tend to rant about work a lot, but it's mostly fandom and randomness aside from that. And the ranting might be fun, if you're interested in what it's like to work in a small publishing house where no one really knows what they've gotten themselves in)
