... You know, I hadn't actually made that connection. I assume you mean the breaking of the wall? Hm.
Certainly throuout season six cas does keep making decisions above their heads, partly or mostly (at least so he tells himself) to keep them safe. And, though I wasn't consciously thinking of that when I wrote this, it's probably an influence, in that it's in Castiel's nature to try to keep them safe even at the expense of their independence - at the same time as trying to preach free will and just not quite getting it (though he does try so hard). I don't think breaking Sam's wall is a direct analogy to what cas is trying here, because he does it consciously knowing that he will hurt Sam and distress dean; but, insofar as it is an extension of his behaviour throughout season six, that he ultimately believes it's for their own good to override them completely at this point even if it makes them hate him.... Yes, I suppose so. If that tendency in Castiel went unchecked.
This is why he should have had more cuddles in season six. :(
Go go magic Sam, heading that off!
I'm certainly not done with this verse - for one thing, there's obviously a glaring omission between this fic and the previous one, and this fic and the following one, involving the crossing of certain bed-related boundaries. And there are a lot of other things I'll play with at some point, completely out of order no doubt. But I don't think I'll write much in it for a while now, because I've some other major projects that aren't this that want attention.
(if it helps? Consider "strip poser" as part of this verse. I do!)
